Smiling Video

I did capture a few of Pryce's smiles and "gooo"s yesterday on video. I hope they make you smile too!

Halloween on the farm

We had fun at Mark & Helen's annual Halloween party on their farm last Saturday. Everett dressed as a duck and we were surprised he actually left his costume on for most of the night. Last year, he was one pathetically sad little lion and the costume only lasted about 1 minute before we decided to stop torturing him. Amazing the difference a year makes ... don't you think?

Everett had fun playing with his cousin, Fireman John. Unfortunately we got there right as cousin lady bug Hayley was going to bed so we missed getting pictures of her.

Everett LOVED riding on the tricycle ... guess we'll need to request one from Santa this year!

And he went on the annual hayride ... but David wasn't sure if he was enjoying it or not. He said he just looked really serious and sat perfectly still.

Pryce got lots of lovin' from Grandad and Grandma.

And I had deja vu seeing Brenda feed Pryce in the same chair just like she did with Everett just two Halloweens before. Can you tell they are brothers? 2007, 2 months old 2005, 1.5 months old

State Fair

David took the day off last Friday and we took the boys to the State Fair. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. The highlight of the trip was the petting zoo. There were so many animals and Everett was all smiles as he fed the goats, pigs, giraffe, llama buffalo, donkey, etc. The llama was quite a character. He kept taking the cup of food right out of E's hand. Everett looked completely shocked the first couple times he did this. I caught it on video the third time. Pryce slept through most of the outing. We are looking forward to next year when both boys will be able to enjoy themselves!

Smiles!

Pryce has started smiling, cooing, and gaga gooing. Such sweet faces and sweet little sounds make 4am feedings much more tolerable! He is sleeping pretty well now with typically only one feeding at night and hopefully we'll be able to drop that one soon! I will try to videotape him "talking" soon to share as well.

MINE!

"MINE" happens to be Everett's favorite word these days. It seems that just about everything is "MINE" particularly if it's something his little brother is using. This past week it included the bathtub (when Everett saw Pryce get a bath in "HIS" bathtub instead of Pryce's little one) . David said this caused quite a tantrum with Everett frantically pulling all of his toys out of the bath before his little brother could get a hold of them. He also informed me that the Bumbo chair I tried to sit Pryce in for a picture was "MINE". So I let Everett sit in the chair and tried to get a picture of him holding his little brother (since we've yet to get a picture of that pose). That didn't work out so well.

And here is Everett happy to have "HIS" chair all to himself.Posted by Picasa

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my Dad's 65th birthday. We celebrated last night with dinner at our house. Both Brayden and Everett helped Baba blow out his birthday candles. More pictures are here.

Happy Bday Les & Todd

We celebrated Leslie and Todd's bdays last Saturday during the TX-OU game. Todd turned 22 on the 9th and Les turned 26 today! Happy Birthday! I've posted pictures on Shutterfly.

Mission Organization

We made a trip to IKEA last weekend to purchase some MUCH NEEDED storage for all of Everett's toys. Now most of his toys actually have a "place" and clean-up time is so much easier!

Not much new to report around here. We are still pretty sleep deprived, although we are partially to blame. We've been staying up too late instead of going to bed as soon as both boys are asleep. The problem is that Everett has been fighting bed time lately and it's 9:30 or 10pm before we finally get him to sleep. We could get to bed right after him, but after a long day of being Mommy, those evening hours of child-free, adult conversation time with David or adult television show watching times are pretty priceless. (and by adult TV, I mean anything that isn't animated, includes fuzzy puppets or is "brought to you today by the letter A"!!!) Maybe with the time change approaching, we'll be able to start getting E to bed earlier and we can reclaim an hour or two back for ourselves!

New wheels

Check out the awesome new stroller my parents got us. It's a Joovy Caboose and we took it for a test drive at Oktoberfest last weekend and it worked great! It held Pryce in his carrier and then E could either sit or stand on the back (although so far we've only shown E how to sit so he'll stay strapped in) Thanks Baba and Gigi!

Everett had SO much fun at Oktoberfest. We spent most of our visit in the main tent and he LOVED running around on the dance floor. I took a little bit of video that I'll post below but it really didn't capture the true energy and fun that was being had. I only caught him before the band started and then when he was about worn out so you'll miss seeing him really dancing to the music and clapping after the songs. We'll definitely be going back next year!
