The Adventures of Sam the Magic Elf

Well, that magic snow certainly does work! After bring sprinkled with it Monday night, Sam came to life and played while we slept. We awoke to find a trail of shoes and Legos leading us to Sam and where he'd built himself a fort and left Everett a Peanuts Christmas decoration. He also left Everett an oatmeal breakfast bar ... how did he know that Everett had asked for one just before bed last night? It was a fun way to start the day, but that Elf sure left a big mess of Legos for Mom to clean up that afternoon!

Yesterday morning we awoke to find that Sam had once again been up all night playing. This time, he even enticed some of Everett's other toys to join him. Mr. Potato-Head, Dash and Mr. Monkey had clearly had a very competitive game of poker going during the evening. Sam had obviously enjoyed eating the cracker E had left him as there were crumbs all over the table.
This morning, Sam's antics were a bit less exciting. We found him in Everett's wagon, toting a box of saltwater taffy. I told E he could have ONE piece after he ate his breakfast. Oddly enough, I found about 5 wrappers behind the couch as we were leaving for school. Everett then informed me that he was sick and his tummy hurt .... hmmmmm ... I wonder why?!?! Even Sam the Elf knew to only eat one, evidenced by the single wrapper we found beside him.
We are curious to see what else Sam will get into in the days ahead.
