Happy 3rd Birthday Everett

I brought cupcakes up to Everett's school to celebrate his 3rd birthday on September 11th. It seemed like we had waited forever for his birthday to arrive ... he's been talking about it for over a month! I guess it was a bit confusing for him since Pryce had his party last month and Everett pretty much thought that was all about him too! He enjoyed being sung too and blowing out his candles.

With his teacher, Ms. Brandi.

Trip to the park

The boys love going to the park in their wagon. And we love that the weather has been cool enough to make walks to the park bearable! Here's a few pics taken on August 31st.

It amazes me how quickly E can scale up the rock climbing wall at the park. Earlier this week he did it one-handed, while holding a sippy cup! Show off!

First boat ride

The boys had their first ride in Daddy's boat last month. Everett especially seemed to enjoy getting out on the water.

Happy 40th Anniversary Mom & Dad

We honored our parents on their 40th wedding anniversary, August 17th, by throwing them a virtual surprise party. Family and friends from all over the globe mailed, emailed and faxed their well wishes. They also received photos and even one DVD of video-taped greetings all the way from Milan! Here they are holding their surprise party in a box.

Pryce's new PJs

I was trying to get some pics of Pryce in the new pjs Aunt Molly sent for his bday. (Thanks Mol!) He recently started making this really goofy big grin that just cracks me up! Here's what we ended up with ...

First day of school

Monday, August 25th was Everett's official first day in his new class. They actually transitioned a few weeks ago, but were still in "summer mode" and now the school year has really begun. I was told that he's now old enough that he's supposed to wear the school uniform. I dutifully shelled out the bucks to order a few embroidered polo shirts (one red, one blue & one white) that he can wear with navy or khaki shorts or pants. I love the idea of not having to think too hard about what he'll wear each day. However, he seems to be the ONLY kid in his class that I've ever seen wearing the uniform ... hmmmm. Maybe I was told incorrectly? He is probably the oldest kid in his class, so maybe that led to the confusion. Either that, or ALL the other kids and parents in his class are rebels! We won't sweat it ... I think he looks quite handsome in his new polos. Notice he tried to take Kissing Elmo with him to school ... this was a present for Pryce from Aunt Mel and Paul which Everett has been so helpful to assist in caring for most days. He is really cute and Pryce always laughs when Elmo makes kisses for him and says "Elmo loves you!!

Everett's new teacher is Miss Brandi. I was a bit nervous about the transition, as E absolutely LOVED Miss Kristen. I was comforted knowing Kristen would be also helping with his class from time to time and he'd get to see her quite a bit. He was a bit confused at first, trying to go to whichever class Kristen was in and calling Miss Brandi Miss Kristen ... but it didn't take him long to get into his new routine. He seems to really like Miss Brandi and she's an energetic upbeat person who seems to genuinely enjoy teaching. He also got a whole class full of new friends since his summer friends moved up to an older class. I think he's adjusted just fine and is usually eager to go to school each morning and very busy and happy when I pick him up. Sometimes I'll go to his class first, find him too busy to leave just then, so I'll give him a few more minutes while I pick up Pryce to finish up his project.

Silly

We had the carpet cleaner out for just a few minutes the other day and the boys, of course, immediately gravitated to it. They are just so silly.
