Merry Christmas!

I hope you and yours had a wonderful Christmas!

We enjoyed the company of our family and the very entertaining little ones who were SO excited (to say the least) by their large quantity of Christmas “loot” they received this year! (We’ll be shopping for contractors soon to add on a new room just to hold all the new toys!)

We are so thankful for all that we have this year. I was thankful, in particular, on this Christmas day for my family’s good health and the hope for continued good health, happiness, and peace in 2008. As is the case, Christmas is a time to count our blessings, of which we have MANY.

Speaking of blessings, here are the top three that come to my mind for 2007.
1. PRYCE – my second baby boy was born on August 19th. It’s amazing how much our hearts are capable of growing to make room to love another human being!
2. HOME – this is a double blessing as when we bought our new home, my parents bought our previous one just ½ mile away … we have a little more space and Gigi and Baba close by – can’t beat that!
3. HEALTH – I’m not sure that I actually blogged about this before, but earlier this year, my Mom’s breast cancer returned. As a result, she underwent a bilateral mastectomy and is still on an oral chemo treatment. I can’t begin to express how proud I am of her for her positive outlook and energy in light of it all. In fact, just days after her surgery, she joined us at the gym! What a trouper she is and an inspiration to me. Mom had a CT scan last week and we’ll find out the results on New Year’s Eve. Please say a prayer for us that she can celebrate the start of 2008 cancer-free!

And of course the BEST part of Christmas this year … having Molly home! We sure miss her since she moved out to LA.

Much love from our home to yours … Merry Christmas!

Portraits

After visiting Santa last week, we (Jenny, my parents and I) took the kids to have portraits taken. We wanted some nice pictures to give to close family and friends for Christmas. We also wanted a picture of all four of the grandkids to give my parents. Here were the results:

If anyone happens to be interested, I have referral cards that will give the user a free 8x12 “Perfect Treasure” ... as long as it's your first visit to Kiddie Kandids. I was quite pleased with our experience there.

Everett's new haircut

I took E in for a haircut today. The lady styled it differently than it's been done in the past. I wasn't too sure about it at first, but it grew on me quickly. He looks about 2 years older, but he's still pretty darn cute! Now if I can just figure out how to style it the same way. I never dreamed I'd be using "product" on my 2 year old!

Sleepy Kid

On Sunday, David and Everett went on a short walk while I was feeding Pryce . When they returned, Everett was supposed to be finishing up his lunch when I walked past him ... only to notice ... he was completely asleep ... standing up with his head on his chair! He didn't even budge or move an eyelid when I picked him up and put him to bed. Our poor boy was pooped out!

Hey Santa!

We headed to the Stonebriar mall bright and early last Thursday to get pictures taken with Santa. Everett has been very intrigued with the Santa decorations around the house and has pointed to the picture of himself & Santa from last year (that's still on my keychain) and says "ho ho ho" ... so I actually hoped there was a chance he wouldn't be scared of Santa this year. Pryce didn't seem to mind Santa a bit, but the visit didn't go over so well with E!
