Well, so much for getting some of my favorite pics posted of Pryce's first couple weeks at home. Turns out that having two children under the age of two keeps you pretty darn busy!!! I'll get some new pictures posted soon.
We are slowly adjusting to the changes at home. We planned on being a bit sleep deprived, but expected it to be because we'd be up with a newborn ... not with Everett! He's been waking up in the middle of the night quite a bit over the past week and getting him back to sleep has resulted in him in our bed or one of us sleeping in his room. David joked this morning that we played musical beds last night. We hope this phase will pass quickly as Everett has always been such a good sleeper ... going to bed with no fuss every night and almost never waking up until the morning. In fact, this past week was the first time EVER that he's slept in our room with us - even though it was only for an hour or so. Even when he was a newborn, he slept every night in his crib.
This week Everett started extended days at his Montessori school. He still attends only 3 days per week, but now I'll pick him up at 4pm instead of 2pm. I'm hopeful those two extra hours will make a huge difference in me getting some things done. It will also be a treat to pick him up when there are activities going on at school for me to "see him in action" rather than when he's just woken up from a nap as is the case at 2pm. Yesterday he was very busy concentrating on a project of using tongs to move little rubber balls from one dish to another and then back again. I was impressed to see how hard he was working and how he put away his project and pushed in his chair when he was done before the teacher walked him to the door to go home. I'm so glad he's adjusted well to his new school and really seems to be enjoying it there now.
Pryce has been a very sweet baby. He eats well, sleeps regularly and as much as we could hope for and is usually pretty easy to calm down when he's fussy. He has his two week checkup tomorrow (yes, it's actually closer to three weeks so we're a little behind). I'll be curious to hear how much he's grown. He's almost outgrown the onsie he wore home from the hospital and I bet he'll be in size 1 diapers (as opposed to NB) by next week. Speaking of Pryce, I hear him now .... better run ....
