The nurse took my blood for my diabetes test (the fun one where you drink some really nasty sweet orange drink 45 minutes before the appointment. Fun fact - If you read the fine print it warns that possible side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and fainting ... now, is it just me or does it seem a little risky to tell a pregnant lady to "drink this and then drive yourself to the doctor!") She called with results today - normal for my glucose test but my iron is still low. I guess I'll start taking the iron pills I bought the last time she told me my iron was low. The doc was running behind so I never actually saw him, (I told the nurse there was no reason for me to wait around for me to tell him "I feel great" and for him to say "that's great - see you next time!").
So far I have been lucky to have felt really good throughout this pregnancy ... despite the mild exhaustion which I'd imagine is typical of any mother with a 21 month old. David and I took a little trip to New Orleans last weekend (thanks Mom & Dad for watching E so we could get in some R&R!) and I did experience some swelling in my hands & feet. I don't recall that happening this soon with Everett ... but I'm sure the heat & humidity, salty food and extra walking (in the heat) didn't help any. As long as I drink plenty of water and don't get too hot it doesn't seem to be a problem.
It's hard to believe this little guy will be here soon. If he's born as early as Everett, that could be as soon as 9 weeks from now - YIKES!!! We'd better get Everett's "big boy" room set up and FAST! I'm already nervous about the transition from crib to big bed ... we probably should have started on that long before now!
Below are some of the sonogram pictures. The first one is a profile shot, the second is him facing you and you can see his eyes, nose, lips and chin (top of forehead on left of pic) and the last picture is obviously of his feet which are right next to his head (you can see his forehead and I think his fingertips pressed to his forehead). His face has filled out a lot since his last photo shoot.
