Visit with Grandparents

As you can see, Everett always has fun visiting Grandma and Grandad at the lake! He was one happy kid this weekend. (Well, except for when he tried on his costume!)

Busy Weekend Video

Here's a video of Everett's busy weekend. He did a lot of playing at home, at Uncle Mark & Aunt Helen's and at Grandma and Grandad's. Warning - it is pretty long. Wouldn't attempt to download without highspeed internet.

Halloween at the Farm

Saturday evening we went to Mark & Helen's annual Halloween party on their farm. Here are a few of the highlights.

Sad Lion

Can you tell that Everett doesn't like his Halloween costume?!?!? Posted by Picasa

Doggy Door

Everett has discovered the doggy door! He hasn't actually gone all the way out it yet, but he does crawl further and further out each time. Normally he's just interested in reaching out to grab acorns or leaves to then put in his mouth. Sometimes he takes things from our bathroom (such as a loofah sponge) and put them outside the doggy door. He's very into putting things IN to other things these days. We have to remove items from the trash pretty regularly which he has "put away". His favorite thing to put in the trash this week .... magnets from the fridge. We hope this newfound interest will eventually channel into a desire to put all his toys away!

Karly visit

I got to babysit Karly for the first time today while Jenny went to an appointment. She's such a sweet little baby. She is smiling a lot now ... of course not usually when there's a camera pointed at her. I was surprised how jealous Everett seemed for me to be holding another baby. He kept trying to get in my lap while I was feeding her.

Fun with facial hair

We had fun playing with some silly stick-on mustaches. With all E's drool, the sticky didn't last very long!

More little red wagon pics

Everett sure has been enjoying the little red wagon he got for his birthday!

Dinner at Roy's

We went to Roy's on Saturday night for dinner with Dawn & Todd and Melissa & Paul. It was FANTASTIC! The food & service was so wonderful. We'll definitely be going back! Thanks guys for a really fun night!

Our last day

On Friday we woke up to a rainy, dreary day. A little disappointing since it was our last full day at the beach ... and my birthday! We went to the Sea Turtle rescue place which was really neat. Unfortunately, E was pretty squirmy so we couldn't stay very long.

Our last walk out to the beach before heading home the next morning. Posted by Picasa

Sunrise at the beach

One morning we were out on the beach early enough to see the sunrise! It was really beautiful. Posted by Picasa

the Beach

We took a stroll down to the Sheraton one evening as the sun was setting. The Sheraton was hosting a sandcastle building contest throughout the week. Everett wanted to stop and pick up every seashell ... and then proceed to put them in his mouth. You'd think he'd have gotten tired of having gritty sand in his mouth! This is my favorite time of day at the beach. Posted by Picasa

Peninsula Island Resort

This was the view from our room at the Peninsula Island Resort and Spa.
We will definitely try to stay here again. The resort is brand new and the rooms and accomodations are all really nice. The staff were all so friendly and they sure loved Everett! We didn't try the restaurant until the last day, but if we'd tried it sooner, we'd have probably eaten there again before we left. The food and service were really good.

David & Everrett in one of the hot tubs.

and in the other hot tub.

The pools at the resort were great for Everett. There were a lot of shallow areas and the hot tubs weren't too hot for him to enjoy. The pool also had a swim-up bar and there was poolside drink and meal service. AAhhh ... what a way to live! Posted by Picasa

My silly boys

We spent last week in S. Padre. Everett had such a great week. He did really well traveling and was so happy the whole time we were there. I guess he really likes vacation!

These pictures were taken at Pirate's Landing in Port Isabel. It's amazing how much fun you can have with a napkin! The food at the restaurant was decent. It had a nice view and we enjoyed walking out on the fishing pier after we ate. There actually weren't many really good restaurants on or near the Island ... not that we found anyway. We'll probably be doing more cooking at our condo the next time we go. (and by "we", I of course mean Chef David!) Unfortunately, our "suite" was more of a large hotel room with a kitchenette ... not the best set up for serious cooking. We'll definitely change that on our next trip.

Birthdays at Dave & Busters

On Saturday, October 14th, we celebrated Leslie and Todd's birthdays at Dave & Busters. Posted by Picasa

Happy to have Daddy at home this week

David rolled off his project on Tuesday so we've had him at home with us this week. Everett loves having Dad get him dressed for school. They have played so much in the mornings that Everett looks tired by the time we get to school! The teacher said he napped for an hour on Wednesday ... that's the first nap he's taken at school in at least a month! I bet he'll nap today too. We wish Daddy could stay home with us every day!

Everett loves his little wagon he got from Webb & Debby for his birthday. He gets in and out and in and out .....

And look how handsome he is in his new red shirt from Grandma and Grandad! Posted by Picasa
